If you live in an apartment or condo complex, such as one of the beautiful Port Imperial properties, you might be interested in finding a place for your dog to exercise, socialize, and play with other pups. Fortunately, there are some great dog parks in the Weehawken area that you and your dog will absolutely love.
Here is an overview of Weehawken dog parks and even more reasons why Weehawken is a pet-friendly place to call home.
Lincoln Harbor Dog Park
The Lincoln Harbor Dog Park is adjacent to the Hartz Mountain Estuary luxury community and located at 1600 Harbor Boulevard. This is at the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Harbor Boulevard and part of the Town of Weehawken Parks Department. Your pup will love this green space to run freely and play with other dogs. It is a cleaned fenced-in area with artificial turf. It’s unique because there are some run rocks for pups to climb up on too.
Weehawken Dog Run
The Weehawken Dog Run is located at the intersection of Boulevard East and Pershing Road. It’s part of the Town of Weehawken Parks Department and has a fenced-in gravel area that is set aside especially for dogs in the community. Dog owners love this Weehawken dog park because of the awesome river and skyline views.
Park at 4800 at Port Imperial
This is another local dog park in our area that offers recreation for dogs and also views of the NYC skyline. It’s a small fenced-in area that has artificial turf. The park also provides dogs with opportunities to watch skateboarders and bikers go by from the safety of inside a fence!
Rivers Edge Dog Park
Rivers Edge Dog Park is located at 1500 Avenue at Port Imperial and just north of Hamilton Park along the Hudson River. It’s near the waterfront and has lovely river views for dog owners. There are no fees to visit the park, which is open from sunrise to sunset. This is a fenced-in park that is stocked with poop bags and has garbage cans. There are benches for dog owners to sit and socialize on while enjoying some shade on a hot and sunny day.
Other Nearby Dog Parks
To switch up your Weehawken dog park routine and check out new sights, sounds, and smells, you can visit some of the other awesome dog parks in the area when you live at Port Imperial. For example, nearby Hoboken has a couple dog parks worth visiting if you are willing to venture out a bit further. The Viaduct Dog Park is located at 1400 Madison Street in Hoboken and features a small fenced area with agility equipment and a water fountain just for dogs. Meanwhile, the 1600 Park is at 16th Street and Park Avenue and is a multi-use, 21-acre park with a dog run, athletic field, bleachers, and restrooms.
