Terminal Ferry Routes and Location
The Port Imperial/Weehawken Ferry Terminal services three ferry routes to take you to Midtown / W. 39th St., Pier 11 / Wall St., and the Brookfield Place Terminal / Battery Park City. You can catch this ferry at 4800 Avenue at Port Imperial in Weehawken, which is right across from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail. Port Imperial to Midtown / W. 39th St.
This ferry route is great because it runs all day, seven days a week, and there’s even free connecting shuttle bus service available to get you to and from the Midtown terminal. The approximate travel time for this ferry ride is just eight minutes, making it very quick and easy to get from Port Imperial to the city.
One-way fares are $9 per adult, and multi-trip fares come in at $76 for a seven-day pass, $83 for a 10-trip pass, $272 for a monthly pass, and $279.50 for a 30-day digital pass. Discounts are available for full-time students, children, and seniors. There is a $1.25 bike surcharge, or you can purchase a $310 bike and ferry pass if you plan to regularly use your bike to commute.
On weekdays, the first ferry departs from Port Imperial at 6am, and the last ferry out of Midtown departs at 12:10am. On weekends, the first Port Imperial ferry leaves at 8am, and the last ferry out of Midtown heads back home at 1:10am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Port Imperial to Pier 11 / Wall St.
The Port Imperial Ferry will also take you to Manhattan Pier 11 / Wall Street on Mondays through Fridays during commuter service hours. This ride takes about 18 minutes direct and 22 minutes on the 10am outbound ferry and the 3:30pm to 8pm returning ferries that make additional stops.
A one-way adult fare will cost you $13, but you can also purchase multi-trip packages for frequent commuting. A seven-day pass is $180, a 10-trip pass is $119, a 30-day digital pass is $366, and a monthly pass is $358.50. You can get discounts on fares for students, children, seniors, and disabled individuals for this route too.
The first departure ferry from Port Imperial leaves at 6am on weekdays, and these departures run until 7:40pm. For your return journey, hop on the ferry at Pier 11 / Wall St. between 6:18am and 8pm on weekdays.
Port Imperial to Brookfield Place Terminal
The third route serviced by our local ferry goes to Brookfield Place Terminal / Battery Park City in Downtown Manhattan on weekdays during commuter rush hours and also on weekends. This is the ideal route to get to the 9/11 Memorial, Westfield Mall/Oculus, One World Trade Center, and the local sightseeing cruises. The route to get to this part of NYC will take you just 15 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the afternoon/evening. Return trips take 15 minutes in the morning and 18 minutes in the afternoon/evening.
Your one-way adult fare will cost $13 on weekdays or $8 on weekends. The route’s seven-day pass is $108, 10-trip pass is $119, 30-day digital pass is $366, and monthly pass is $358.50. Special discounts and bike passes are available too.
Hop on this ferry as early as 6am from Port Imperial, and head back as late as 8:07pm on weekdays. On weekends, you can depart our terminal as early as 10:06am and grab the last return ferry at 6:35pm.
Parking and Transportation for the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal
Parking is available at the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and accessible 24 hours a day. These are indoor parking garages owned and operated by Standard Parking with five floors, two large elevators, and a spacious lobby. Park here for up to 15 minutes for free, up to 12 hours for $16, or get a monthly rate of $225 to $265. Alternatively, you can use the NY Waterway shuttle bus from your waterfront community to reach the terminal. Meanwhile, the NJ Transit Light Rail connects you to bus routes 23, 158, and 159.
